The Global Magazine Of Liberally Applied Critical Examination
It may sound like a character from StarWars, but starting in Q2 of 2010, the WOCU or World Currency Unit will become the medium of exchange among trading nations. This is welcome news to a world weary of Dollar hegemony and the violent and bloody US imperialism that comes along with it.
One of the most beneficial aspects of the Wocu is a stabilization in the prices of imports, exports, and traded commodities -- freeing the people of the world from the crippling manipulation of currencies by Central Banks, which is directly responsible for a great deal of human suffering at the consumer level.
For me, it's not such great news since I am a currency trader and rely on the international corruption of big banks to make a living. Oh well, it's a small price to pay to finally jettison the Dollar and the massive reserves that nations are forced to hold [often against their will] in order to do business with one another. For my part, I'll find another Plutocratic enclave to exploit.
Meanwhile, the Wocu is apolitical -- and it's about damned time.
This is an update of a summary and economic prediction I originally published July 20, 2009
During the Great Depression, following the stock market crash of 1929, the American public sought a scapegoat for their economic plight. Some held President Hoover responsible, others targeted the three B's -- brokers, bankers, and businessmen. In reality, it could not be attributed to one individual or even a group of people. The roots of the Great Depression were in the very structure of the American economy itself.
America's Economic Flaw: Unless the US economy expands and inflates no less than three percent per year on average, it will enter a "gravity well" that is very difficult to reverse. Factors like debt obligations and asset displacement or depletion (think real estate) intensify the risk. It's built into our brand of Capitalism.
The Wealth Gap: Unlike the Economic Flaw, which is built in to foundation of our economy, the Wealth Gap is determined by the political ideology of the Right or the Left, when it gains the power to enact economic laws. The Wealth Gap is a reliable predictor of massive economic cycles that trigger collapse.
Let's see how this works:
This we know.
It has been speculated upon in open-source intelligence circles for years. So, there is little surprise for the rest of the world when it hears of China’s first major foray in its new role as a Superpower.
Although Americans might be surprised. That is, if they even hear about it before the Juarez, Mexico base goes live.
China mulls setting up military base in Pakistan
BEIJING: China has signaled it wants to go the US way and set up military bases in overseas locations that would possibly include Pakistan. The obvious purpose would be to exert pressure on India as well as counter US influence in Pakistan and Afghanistan.
Well, why not?
China already pays for our military imperialism by loaning us the money to play soldier. So, why shouldn't the world's new Superpower just cut to the chase and open their own bases?
President Obama spoke today about new directions in fighting terrorism. He rejected Bush administration policies and reiterated his plans to close the Guantánamo Bay detention center. He vowed to prosecute detainees in federal courts and restated his intention to transfer some detainees to secure prisons within U.S. borders. He also nuanced the hell out of what he hopes to see happen in the criminal justice realms regarding our very own war criminals, George Bush, Dick Cheney, and their web of co-conspirators.
Lars Thorwald, an attorney with the DOJ, gave me permission to publish his impression of what he heard this morning (which he originally posted at Daily Kos), with the following disclaimer:
My views are not the views of the Department. I write merely as a private citizen who works as a trial attorney with the Department. I have only public knowledge about the OPR investigation, and this diary should not be construed as revelation of confidential information, because there ain't none there. That is all, carry on.
And now, a legal analysis of Obama's War Crimes speech:
